Benan's Drums

I have what I think is a pretty extensive collection of drums. The table below shows pictures of some of my drums, descriptions of them, where I got them, and sound-bytes. Links at the bottom of this page will take you to pages 1 and 3 of my collection.

This drum is small djembe, but has a mahogany head, rather than animal skin or mylar. It's got an unusual, distinctive sound, which is why I bought it. Mountain Rhythm, the manufacturer, calls it a djembe cajon. This is the smallest of the three sizes offered by the manufacturer. It's got an 8" head, and stands 16 1/2" tall. audio sample
I bought these doira from Anatolia Imports. At the time, they were vending at Rakkasah East. They had three different sizes, but I only bought two. The larger of the two that I have has a 15" head, and is 2 1/2" deep. The smaller one is 12" across, and 2" deep. audio sample of larger doira mounted in a snare stand.
Audio sample of smaller doira coming soon.
Kobi Hagoel , a member of the Goblet Drumming Group on Yahoo! Groups designs and sells these cast-aluminum drums on Pentagram Web. It's got an 8 1/2" head with a total diameter of 10 3/4", and stands 17 1/4" tall. It comes with a Remo Renaissance head. I'd suggest order extra heads. They fit the standard sized "Alexandria" style cast aluminum doumbeks. I asked Kobi to send me an unpainted one, because I intend to paint it myself, much like the blue doumbek above, only I'll probably choose a nice shade of orange. audio sample coming soon
I bought this 11 3/4" riqq was purchased from a vendor at Rakkasah East. It's got a animal skin head that's been tye-died. It's 2 1/2" deep, and the zills are 2 3/4" across. audio sample coming soon
